Hey, folks! I’m testing out OnePlus 3 from past two days . The first thing you will notice when you hold the device is how light the phone is. The phone has full Unibody metal design made with space-grade aluminium alloy. It feels solid in the hand and has compact nature. OnePlus One design was stand-out from the crowd but this one is comparatively similar to other flagship devices we have in the market. The build quality is impressive thanks to the full metal unibody design.
The fingerprint sensor works blazingly fast which can unlock in 0.2 seconds. It has 5.5 inch 1080P AMOLED display which feels lively, Vibrant, and sharp. The 1080P display makes sense which looks clean and saves some juice too. It runs on Oxygen OS based on Android Marshmallow 6.1 out of the box. The OS is optimised well for the hardware, no big issues faced till now. The Oxygen OS provides stock Android experience which I love the most.
OnePlus 3 boasts mammoth 6 GB of RAM on top of Snapdragon 820 processor. The performance is top notch even though the RAM management isn’t that good. Carl Pei tweeted “We have a different strategy for RAM management that benefits battery. We think this is the best user experience”. He makes sense as the battery consumption is more, the user experience will be throttled.
We have got Reviewers Edition Box which had 5 different cases, and a dash charger. Out of the box, it has high-quality protection screen on top. The retail box won’t have cases and you need to purchase them from online stores.
The 16-megapixel rear camera takes amazing pictures even in low light conditions. It has manual control modes just like a DSLR which can control ISO, and focus. The color reproduction is clean and manages to focus the object 8/10 times. The saturation is on the higher side which can be controlled in manual mode. The 8-megapixel secondary is impressive I must say. It manages to capture raw pictures which turn out to be really good.
A 3000 mAh battery comes with dash charger which promises to charge the device up to 60% in just 30 minutes. Ohh boy! It does what it promises, the battery was full within an hour. Will do full battery test in the upcoming review. The speaker on the bottom isn’t that loud but audible enough. I haven’t tested out any games till now, will test in the full review.
