Xiaomi revealed their new buds up at an event in China today. One of them was the most anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5S, the companies’ latest greatest flagship device. As promised, they did it on time. The Mi 5S comes with a 5.15-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD pressure-sensitive display (known more as 3D touch) with a pixel density of 428 ppi. The phone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow (no Nougat yet) with MIUI 8 on top of it. We get a quad-core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor clocked at 2.15 GHz with Adreno 530 GPU.
The phone comes with two RAM variants, the 3 GB variant with 64 GB of internal storage and a 4 GB variant with 128 GB of internal storage. Both storage options support UFS 2.0, though. It would have been better if we were able to expand it. It comes with a dual SIM option too.
It sports a 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX378 1/2.3-inch sensor, (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus, 4K video recording and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera with a pixel size of 2 microns. It has USB Type-C port and packs a 3200mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It has a full metal unibody design and is 8.25 mm thick, slightly thicker than the Mi 5. It has a under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that scans your fingerprint in a split-second.
The Xiaomi Mi 5S comes in Dark gray and Golden colors with glossy brushed metal finish and the Silver and Rose gold colors with frosted matte finish and is priced at 1999 yuan (Rs. 19,920 approximately) for the 3GB RAM with 64GB variant and the 4GB RAM with 128GB variant costs 2299 yuan (Rs. 22,910 approximately). It will go on sale starting from September 29 in China.
