8 Lakh Redmi Note 2 Phones sold by Xiaomi under 12 hours, Really ?

The Chinese giant Xiaomi has sold over 8,00,000 Redmi Note 2 units less than 12 hours in China. It’s hard to digest even, but it is true according to Xiaomi. The first flash sale happened on Sunday which broke all the records. The next flash sale of Xiaomi Redmi 2 will be on August 24.

To remind viewers, Redmi Note 2 has a 5.5-inch 1080P display. It is running on the latest MIUI 7 ROM with Android Lollipop 5.0 on the top. It packs 2 GB of RAM powered by Helio X10 octacore chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz. It has 16 GB of ROM with 32 GB expandable storage.

There is a 13 MP camera on the back with LED flash support. A 5 MP camera on the front does a decent job for taking selfies. It supports 4G LTE along with 3G and 2G. Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 powers 3060 mAh battery which lasts long. The phone is priced at RMB 799 ( roughly Rs 9000 ).

Sadly, Xiaomi has no plans to launch in India. I believe they will try their best to release in India which is the second largest market after China. They don’t have the licence to sell Mediatel smartphones in India. They experienced bitter taste last year as Redmi Note 3G was banned in India over licencing issue. If they manage to release in India then it will be a blockbuster sale.
