Micromax stands second in smartphone sellings in India. Canvas phones ruled the budget smartphone category. Although Xolo was the tough competitor to Micromax. In first quarter of 2013 Canvas 2 plus and Canvas HD were sold like hot cakes.
In the middle of the year Canvas Doodle 2 and Canvas 4 were released. Doodle 2 had 5.7 inch large Screen with huge battery inside. Without being released Canvas 4 created lot of hype in the internet as well as in the television. There were lot of expections of this phone to feature octacore processor with full HD screen, this and that. But Canvas 4 wasn’t leave upto expections as they created lot of buzz before releasing. The only feature of canvas 4 that standout was ‘ blow over the screen’ to unclock.
At last quarter of the year Canvas turbo was leaked with full specs, just to create hype. Finally Micromax revealed Canvas Turbo and appointed hollywood star Huge Jackman as Brand Ambassidor. Canvas Turbo featured Full HD display and had 16 GB gigs of internal storage. 2 GB RAM with quadcore processor made Canvas Turbo, the best android phone under 20K. At the frag end of the year, Canvas Magnus and Canvas 2.2 .Both these handsets launched with reasonable price. Canvas blaze was made only for MTS users, so the blaze was average in sales. The year 2013 was succesful for Canvas phones.
