The Indian domestic maker Micromax revealed Canvas Sliver 5 in New Delhi, calls it as Jailbreak Event. Micromax claims Canvas Sliver is the slimmest and lightest smartphone ever. At the launch event, Vineet Taneja (CEO of Micromax ) compared this device with Gionee Elife S5.1, Vivo X5 Max, Iphone 6 and Oppo R5 which aren’t as slim as Canvas Sliver 5. The smartphone is 5.1 mm thick end-to-end and weighs about 97 grams.
Micromax canvas sliver 5 sports 4.8 inch AMOLED display with 720P screen resolution. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset with 64-bit architecture. On the other side, it has 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB inbuilt storage which is expandable.
The Canvas Sliver 5 runs on top of Android Lollipop 5.0. The company managed to dig in a 2000 mAh battery for such a slim device. The 8 MP Sony IMX219 rear shooter takes high-quality pictures and also it can record full HD videos. To make selfie lovers happy, Canvas Sliver 5 has 5 MP front snapper. The smartphone supports dual sim, 4G, 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
The smartphone is available for Rs 17,999 which is way too costly. The users will think thrice before going for this device. At this price, you can get flagship killers like Xiaomi MI 4, Oneplus One and Asus Zenfone 2. As Huge Jackman is promoting this device eventually the price will be higher
