OPPO A1 with 5.7-inch 18:9 display, 4GB RAM and Face Unlock announced

OPPO has introduced a new smartphone in the A-series dubbed as OPPO A1 in China. The A1 is going to the OPPO’s newest mid-range smartphone and resembles a lot in terms of specifications to the A83 which was also launched this year. The smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek chipset and has A.I beauty technology that scans 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly as well as face unlock to unlock the phone quickly by scanning 128 facial points.

The OPPO A1 sports a 5.7-inch (1440 × 720 pixels) 18:9 HD+ full-screen 2.5D curved glass display. It is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 SoC. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 128GB with a microSD card. The device supports Dual SIM cards and runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 on top.

Coming to the camera, it features a 13MP rear camera with LED flash. On the front, the device comes with 8MP front-facing camera. The physical details are 150.5 × 73.1 × 7.7mm dimensions and is of 143g weight. Other connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. The battery capacity is of 3090mAh battery.

The OPPO A1 will be widely available in two different colors Dark Blue and Cherry Red. The device will be selling for a price tag of 1499 yuan (US$ 537 / Rs. 15,400 approx.). The smartphone is currently up for pre-orders and will be on sale from April 1st.
