Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone with 4.5-inch display, 4G VoLTE and swappable Xpress-on covers announced

HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia has just launched three new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona 2018. The first smartphone is the Nokia 1 which runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition) with 4G VoLTE and swappable Xpress-on covers for the back. It has all the Go Edition apps that are slowly making their way to the smartphone.

The Nokia 1 sports a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS display. It is powered by a 1.1GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737M with Adreno 304 GPU. Coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD. It runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo (Go version) and supports 4G VoLTE with Dual Sims.

The smartphone features a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. Other connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. The Nokia 1 boasts a 2150mAh battery. Nokia 1 is the latest Android Oreo (Go Edition) phone along with the ZTE Tempo Go.

The Nokia 1 will be available in Warm Red and Dark Blue colors and is priced at $85 (Rs. 5500 approx). The Xpress-on covers will be selling separately which will be available from $7.99 in Azure, Grey, Yellow, and Pink. The Nokia 1 will be selling from the month of April this year.
