LG has announced their new smartphone and it’s their first ThinQ mobile device with integrated AI features. The smartphone is dubbed as V30s ThinQ and has been announced before the MWC 2018 event. The V30s ThinQ is very much the ordinary V30, except it adds up some A.I features into the smartphone. So, let’s check the specifications and new A.I features of the V30s ThinQ.
The LG V30s ThinQ sports a 6-inch (2880 x 1440 pixels) QHD+ OLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 538 PPI, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. Coupled with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB storage for V30s ThinQ and 256GB internal storage for V30s+ ThinQ. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with LG UX 6.0+.
The device features a 16+13MP Dual Rear Cameras with 71-degree wide-angle lens, Dual tone LED Flash, OIS, f/1.6 and f/1.9 aperture respectively. On the front, it comes with a 5MP sensor with 90-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone also features a Fingerprint sensor, Voice Recognition, Face Recognition and IP68 water and dust resistant. Other connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 (3.1 compatible). It boasts a 3,300mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Wireless charging support.
The Vision A.I would be having
- AI CAM – Analyzes subjects in the frame and recommends the optimal shooting mode among eight categories: portrait, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise, and sunset.
- QLens – Scans QR codes to offer information as to where to buy the product online at the lowest price as well as recommendations for similar items. Supports Food, fashion, and celebrities or detailed information of landmarks such as buildings and statues.
- Bright Mode – Uses algorithms to brighten images by a factor of two for better looking photos without the noise.
The Voice A.I would be allowing users to run apps and change settings through voice commands alone. Works alongside Google Assistant offering a direct selection of specific functions, eliminating the need to search through menu options.
The LG V30s ThinQ will be available in a couple of different colors, New Moroccan Blue color with a green tint and New Platinum Gray colors. The smartphone will be first launched in Korea in the month of March and will be made available to the US and Europe after that. The pricing and availability in Asian countries are yet to be known.
