The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is finally announced in China. This is the successor of the bezel less Mi Mix which started all the race of bezel less smartphones.
This time Xiaomi opt for 18:9 display for Mi Mix 2 instead of 17:9 display of the first-gen Mi Mix. This 18:9 display is Full HD+ (2160x1080p) IPS LCD making its overall footprint smaller and bringing a higher screen-to-body ratio. There is 12% reduction in the top bezel and the front glass is curved on all sides.
The Mi Mix 2 is powered by the flagship SOC Snapdragon 835 which is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM – the 6GB model has either 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of storage while the 8GB model is Special Edition of Mi Mix 2 which has 128GB of storage and a ceramic body.
The Mi Mix 2 packs a single 12MP Sony IMX386 module which identical to the primary camera on the Xiaomi Mi 6 back and features 4-axis OIS but there is no dual camera setup like Mi 6. For selfies, it has 5MP front snapper. The smartphone comes with 3400 mAH battery which is actually 1000 mAh less than the original Mi Mix. It also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7 Nougat. The standard aluminum Mi Mix 2 comes only in black color while the 8GB RAM ceramic Special edition is available in black or white color. The price of 6GB+64GB Mi Mix 2 is RMB 3,299 ($505), the 6GB+128GB costs RMB 3,599 ($550), the 6GB+256GB is RMB 3,999 ($610) and the 8GB+128GB ceramic special edition is RMB 4,699 ($720).
