Ever since I started to know and use smartphones as a geek, I always admired a phone with a bezel-less display. But it’s 2016 and we’ve not seen any devices yet like that. But the things changed up when Xiaomi announced their first edgeless smartphone at the Mi Note 2 event at China today.
The Mi Mix comes with a 6.4-inches edgeless Ultra-high display with 91.3% screen-to-body ratio which is the highest on any smartphone up till this date. On the other side, we get a full ceramic body out of the box. The phone runs on the latest chipset from Qualcomm till now, the Snapdragon 821 clocked at 2.35 GHz and coupled with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. It runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top of it out of the box.
We get a 128 GB of UFS 2.0 onboard memory with the 4 GB variant whereas 256 GB UFS 2.0 internal storage on the 6 GB variant. At the back, the phone has a 16MP camera with dual-tone LED Flash and a 5 MP front camera at the top while three on-screen touch buttons at the bottom. Instead of a standard proximity sensor, it uses ultrasonic technology and uses Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system instead of a standard earpiece, allowing you to listen to calls without the earpiece. Juicing up the device, it has a 4,400 mAh battery which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 too.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix is available in only one color – Black and will be priced at Rs. 34,530 approx. for the standard 4GB RAM variant whereas the 18k Gold Finish variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage costs Rs. 39,470 approx. in India and will be available in China from November 4th.
