The most popular phone of 2017 is Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and it is a good device at its budget. But now Xiaomi is planning to launch its successor Redmi Note 5. But Now the cheaper version of Redmi Note 5 which will be known as Redmi Note 5A has been listed on TENNA website (which is certification website) with the model numbers MDT6 and MDE6.
Redmi Note 5A will be the cheaper version of Redmi Note 5 and will be priced at Rs. 9000 / 999 Yuan. This smartphone is just like Redmi 4A which was just a cheaper version of Redmi 4. So according to leak, the Redmi Note 5A will sport a 5.5-inch HD display and metal body with curved edges on the rear. Under the hood, it is powered by the most popular Soc of 2017 Snapdragon 625.
According to the leak, the smartphone will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via micro sd card. It runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with MIUI 8.5.1 skin on top of it instead of MIUI 9. This may be the first device from Xiaomi which bears a triple-slot tray that can hold two SIM card and a MicroSD card.
Redmi Note 5A packs the smaller battery of 3000 mAh where Redmi Note 4 has 4100 mAh battery. There are rumors that higher end variants of this device may come in future with model numbers MDT6S and MDE6S. The overall design of these smartphones will remain the same like previous one but MDT6S and MDE6S packs a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
These new devices come with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Also, the cameras are upgraded to 16MP, and 13MP sensors on the rear and front of the device with a front facing LED flash.
