Xiaomi has globally launched their Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone at an event in New Delhi in India. The main focus of this smartphone is going to be in the camera department as it features a Rear Dual camera setup with Portrait mode abilities on the front and rear cameras. It’s Xiaomi’s first smartphone in the Redmi series smartphones to come with up to 6GB of RAM.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro sports a 5.99-inch (2160 × 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18:9 2.5D curved glass display with 450 nits Brightness. It is powered by the latest 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 509 GPU. It comes with 4/6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM with 64GB of internal storage and expandable memory up to 128GB via Micro SD card. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 and supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD).
Coming to the camera, Xiaomi has improved it a lot with a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX486 sensor, 1.25?m pixel size, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and Dual Tone LED Flash which resembles a lot with iPhone X’s camera setup. The secondary camera on the rear has a 5MP Samsung depth sensor with 1.12?m pixel size and f/2.0 aperture. On the front, it comes with a 20MP camera with Sony IMX376 sensor and has a f/2.2 aperture with LED Flash. Other connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS. The smartphone has a 4000mAh non-removable battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available in four colors, Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue. The pricing details are Rs. 13999 for the 4GB RAM version and Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB RAM variant. The company will also be bundling a clear back case as a freebie in the box. The smartphone will be Flipkart exclusive and will also be available from February 22nd at Mi.com and Mi Home retail stores.
