Vivo has showcased a smartphone in the CES 2018 event and it’s the world’s first in-display fingerprint scanning smartphone that uses an optical fingerprint sensor made by Synaptics. The same smartphone which is the Vivo X20 Plus UD has been officially certified by TENAA in China. Though the model number was different from the device showcased in CES and certified one, it looks the same and has same features.
The Vivo X20 Plus UD sports a 6.43-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ 18: 9 Super AMOLED display. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 512 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory with expandable memory up to 256GB via microSD card. The device supports Hybrid Dual SIM slots and runs on Funtouch OS 3.2 based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat).
The smartphone features a 12+5 MP Dual cameras on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and OIS for stability. On the front, it has a 12MP selfie camera with soft LED flash and a f/2.0 aperture. Other connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS. The Vivo X20 Plus UD boasts a 3905mAh battery with fast charging.
The In-display fingerprint scanner enables users to unlock their smartphone with a one-touch scanning directly on the smartphone display at a small part in the bottom. Vivo is going to launch these smartphones with In-display fingerprints from early 2018. This Vivo X20 Plus UD will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, Black with Gold and Matte Black colors and is said to be announced from later this month for 3,698 Yuan which is Rs. 36770 approx. in China.
