OPPO A79 with 6-inch OLED display and 4GB of RAM launched in China

OPPO has been launching phones in the recent times. Now, they have added another smartphone in the A-series lineup as the A79 smartphone. The device is very similar to the OPPO R11s, which is their flagship smartphone and yes, it comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio display. The design looks identical but the internals are not the same, so let’s check them out.

The OPPO A79 sports a 6-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It is powered by a 2.5Ghz MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 256GB via MicroSD card. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2 on Top.

It features a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and an LED Flash. On the front, it has a 16MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture.  It lacks a Dual Camera system which was present on the R11s. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear. It has all the essentials such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, A-GPS, GLONASS and Bluetooth 4.2. The A79 packs a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with OPPO’s VOOC fast charging support.

OPPO A79 will be available in a bunch of colours which are black and gold colour. It will be arriving for a price tag of 2,399 Yuan which is approx. Rs 23,500. The device will be on sale from December 1st and there is no information of launching this smartphone in India.
