Gionee announced its new smartphone the M7 Power in China earlier this week as Big Gold Steel 2 and today it is released for global markets, at an event in Thailand at the Thailand Mobile Expo 2017. It features a 6-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ 18:9 FullView display with 85% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by 1.4GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform coupled with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage which is expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card.
The M7 power packs a 5000mAh battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life. It is made by high-grade 6-series aluminium back shell with laser-engraved and laser-drilled finishes and has a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the device. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with Amigo OS 5.0 Custom UI on top. It packs a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. And for selfies, it has 8MP front-facing shooter. It has support for 4G VoLTE and comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. And it weighs only 187g.
The Gionee M7 Power comes in Gold, Black, and Dark Blue colors and priced at 9,990 Thai baht which is equivalent to US$ 299 and Indian Rs. 19500. Gionee is also entering in Indonesia this December and plans to manufacture phones there starting next year when it will also start selling products in Malaysia and Vietnam.
