Xiaomi Redmi Y1 with 16-megapixel Selfie camera launched in India

Xiaomi, the biggest selling online smartphone brand in India, is now focusing on selfies. Xiaomi has also joined the selfie crazy brands like OPPO and Vivo with the launch of its new Redmi Y1 smartphone in India.

The Redmi Y1 is a budget-friendly and selfie-centric smartphone which comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display protected by 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card slot. This is a dual sim smartphone with dedicated MicroSD card slot. It comes with an all body metal design.

The Redmi Y1 packs a 16-megapixel selfie camera with the F/2.0 aperture, and a wide 76.4-degree lens along with front-facing LED flash. The device also takes advantage of Pixel binning which gives a sharper and brighter photo. The smartphone has 36 smart beauty profiles, and a real-time beautify for video calls. On the rear, it has a 13MP camera with PDAF and F/2.2 aperture. There is also a fingerprint sensor mounted rear on the phone. It also sports an IR blaster with smart remote control functionality.

Redmi Y1 is a 4G VoLTE device which is priced at Rs. 8999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and Rs. 10999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The Redmi Y1 will be available exclusively via Amazon India.
