Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime & J7 Prime Launched in India, Starts at Rs. 14,790

Samsung has finally launched their two smartphones into the J series in India. The successors to their J5 and J7 devices, the J5 Prime and the J7 Prime respectively.

The J5 Prime comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display along with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass  protection on top of it. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and underneath, we get a 1.4 GHz Quad-Core processor and 2 GB of RAM to complement it. The phone has 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 256 GB with microSD. We get a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and an aperture of f/1.9 and a 5 MP front camera to complement it with f/2.2 aperture. We get a fingerprint sensor as well here. For connectivity, we get several options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. Juicing up the phone is a 2,400 mAh battery.

Coming to the J7 Prime, The J5 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 10800) display along with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass  protection on top of it. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow too and underneath, we get a 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor and 3 GB of RAM to complement it. The phone has 16 GB of internal memory which is also expandable up to 256 GB with microSD. We get a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and an aperture of f/1.9 and an 8 MP front camera to complement it with f/1.9 aperture. We get a fingerprint sensor as well here too. For connectivity, we get several options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS. Juicing up the phone is a 3,300 mAh battery.

Both the phones come with S Power Planning that has modes – Reserve battery for calls, which enables the consumer to allocate a certain percentage of the battery for calls & messages, Extend Battery time which allows user to extend the usage time of the phone up to twice the current available time and Forward calls when no battery wherein the user can forward the calls to a selected contact or any number when the phone runs out of battery. Also, S Secure addresses the consumers’ concerns about security & privacy has three features – Lock and hide apps which allows users to hide or lock applications, Secure Folder where the user can store files for increased privacy & security and Secure Wi-Fi, which enables consumers to browse worry free especially on a public Wi-Fi by encrypting data which is being transferred.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime comes in Gold and Black colors and is priced at Rs. 18,790. It is available from retail stores across India and Samsung online shop. The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime comes in Black and Gold colors, is priced at Rs. 14,790 and will be available from September-end. These phones come with 10 GB worth of Vodafone data over 3 months at 1 GB price.
