OPPO launched the A71 smartphone in India last year. Now, they have announced A71 2018 edition in select countries like Pakistan and Taiwan. It has A.I. Beauty Recognition technology that uses artificial intelligence to recognize skin tone and type, the gender and age of all subjects within an image and analyze environment lighting conditions by referencing other facial images from a massive global photo database, to beautify a selfie shot.
OPPO A71 sports a 5.2-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 14nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory with expandable memory up to 256GB with a microSD card. It runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) with ColorOS 3.2 on top.
It has a unibody metal design and has dedicated dual nano SIM slots and a separate microSD expansion slot. The device also features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED Flash. On the front, it has a 5MP sensor with 1.4?m pixel size and f/2.4 aperture. Other connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. The device boasts a 3000mAh non-removable battery.
The OPPO A71 (2018) will be available in Black and Gold colors. The device is priced at PKR 19,899 which is Rs. 11,465 approx. and is currently sold in Pakistan. There is no information of launching the smartphone in India.
