Xiaomi has finally announced their latest Mi Pad 4 at a launch event in China. Currently, Xiaomi is the only manufacturer which is still keeping Android tablets alive.
The Mi Pad 4 features an 8-inch Full HD screen with 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 660 Soc coupled with 3/4gig of RAM and 32/64Gig of internal storage. The device runs on MIUI 9.5 based on Android Oreo and the MIUI 10 update is also planned for it.
The Mi Pad 4 houses a single camera of 13MP on the rear. There is also a front-facing 5MP selfie camera which also has a support for AI-based Face unlock. The Mi Pad 4 packs a metal body and comes in two version one is WiFi only and the other one also has the 4G support via nano sim card slot.
The Mi Pad 4 will be available in Black and Gold colours. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage of the WiFi-only Mi Pad 4 cost 1099 yuan (US$ 169 approx.) whereas the higher end 4GB RAM and 64GB storage WiFi-only variant is priced at 1399 yuan (US$ 215 approx.). The WiFi + 4G variant comes only in with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and it costs 1499 yuan (US$ 230 approx.). The Mi Pad 4 will go on sale from June 27th only in China and there is no word on the India launch.
