Meizu, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched its new smartphone A5 under its new ‘A’ series. It is a budget smartphone which comes with a price tag of 699 yuan (roughly Rs. 6,600). It is currently available in China.
The Meizu A5 is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek’s MT6737 SoC, and sports a 5-inch 720P HD display. It has 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage with the option to expand further via microSD card. The smartphone sports a unibody metal look and an 8MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5MP front shooter. It weighs in at 140gm and a 3,060mAh battery. It runs on Flyme OS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The connectivity options included are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.1.
The Meizu A5 is available in Black, Gold, and Silver colour variants. It has a Home Button on the front and a sleek rounded frame overall. The device looks premium for the budget, but specs don’t seem to be impressive. Overall it is an underpowered device with two years old software. Even Xiaomi which also a Chinese smartphone manufacturer offers better devices which are bang for the buck. Stay tuned for more info about upcoming smartphone launches in India.
