Asus is set to launch its third generation of Zenfone in May 2016. The second generation Zenfones performed well in India. According to the reports Asus Zenfone to feature a fingerprint sensor developed by a china-based Goodix and Tawan-based Microelectronics.
This is the first time where the Asus is adopting fingerprint recognision system. Currently every mid-range and flagship devices are adopting fingerprint sensors. The trend has just started and expect more in upcoming smartphones.
Asus is expected to ship 30 million devices in 2016 and 20 million in 2015. They are doing quite well in India and southeast Asia. Currently they have expanded market to Brazil, Taiwan and Russia. According to the sources, Asus to land in Bangladesh, Egypt, Myanmar, Cambodia and Nigeria.
