Xiaomi’s newest smartphones – Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite have launched recently. The most highlighting feature of these both devices is its selfie camera. The Xiaomi is trying its luck to compete with selfie centric brands like Vivo and OPPO. The sales of this smartphone will start today from 12 PM Noon.
The Redmi Y1 is a budget-friendly and selfie-centric smartphone which comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD display protected by 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can be expanded via MicroSD card slot. This is a dual sim smartphone with dedicated MicroSD card slot. It comes with an all body metal design.
The Redmi Y1 packs a 16-megapixel selfie camera with the F/2.0 aperture, and a wide 76.4-degree lens along with front-facing LED flash. The device also takes advantage of Pixel binning which gives a sharper and brighter photo. The smartphone has 36 smart beauty profiles, and a real-time beautify for video calls. On the rear, it has a 13MP camera with PDAF and F/2.2 aperture. There is also a fingerprint sensor mounted rear on the phone. It also sports an IR blaster with smart remote control functionality.
Another smartphone is the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite which is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card. Y1 Lite is a dual sim smartphone with dedicated MicroSD card slot. It comes with an all body metal design. The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite packs a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP snapper for selfies. The smartphone runs MIUI 9 which is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. It is backed up by a 3080mAh non-removable battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is priced at Rs. 8999 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and Rs. 10999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. And, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite costs Rs. 6,999 and both these will be exclusively available on Amazon.in.
