Xiaomi Redmi 5A with 5-inch HD display and Snapdragon 425 launched for Rs. 4999

Xiaomi India has launched their latest smartphone in the Redmi series as Redmi 5A. As we know, Redmi series smartphones from Xiaomi are very popular among Indian market for its price. The company was teasing about the device named as “Desh Ka Smartphone”. The device is their cheapest smartphone in the segment but comes with great specifications. The Redmi 5A was already launched in China and now it has landed in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU. Coupled with 2/3 GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage with expandable memory up to 128GB via MicroSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9.

The Redmi 5A features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED Flash. On the front, you can find a 5MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The device also comes with an IR Blaster for remote purposes. Other essentials are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS. It packs a 3000mAh non-removable battery.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be arriving in  Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold and Rose Gold colors and comes with a price tag of Rs. 4999 for 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant for first five million units and post that it is priced at Rs. 5999. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant are available for Rs. 6,999. The device is available for sale on Flipkart and also on Mi.com from December 7th.
