Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with Quad HD+ Infinity display and a dual aperture camera announced

Samsung has announced their flagship smartphones for the year 2018 at the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona. They have teased the smartphone and hyped more about the cameras with the tagline Camera Redesigned. As said, the main aspect of the smartphone this year is the cameras. It comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with variable aperture tech that uses f/1.5 aperture for night shots for a brighter picture and f/2.4 aperture for normal shots in the daytime.

Whereas the S9+ features a secondary 12MP Telephoto lens for live focus for bokeh effect with background blur similar to the last year launched Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The design is very much same to the last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ except with the fingerprint position now changed to more reachable place and the Dual cameras on the S9+. The design has a curved glass on both the front and back with metal edges.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 570ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64/128/256 GB UFS 2.1 storage with Expandable memory with Micro SD card. It will be featuring a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.4-f/1.5 variable aperture and 480fps super slo-mo.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ will be sporting a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ (2960 × 1440 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display with 529ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64/128/256 GB UFS 2.1 storage with expandable memory with a microSD card. The S9+ features a Dual 12MP sensors with f/2.4-f/1.5 variable aperture and 480fps super slo-mo with LED Flash.

Both the smartphones are powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU in Western countries and an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9810 processor with Mali G72MP18 GPU in Asian Countries. They also come with Stereo speakers with Ultra High-Quality Audio Playback. The smartphones feature 8MP autofocus front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.

There are all the essential sensors which are Accelerometer, Barometer, Fingerprint Sensor, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Hall Sensor, Heart Rate Sensor, Proximity Sensor, RGB Light Sensor, Iris Sensor, Pressure Sensor. Other connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST. The Galaxy S9 boasts a 3000mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging and the S9+ packs in a 3500mAh battery with fast Charging both on wired and wireless (WPC and PMA) charging.

The Samsung S9 and S9+ will be available in Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple colors and is priced at $719.99 (Rs. 46590 approx.) and $839.99 (Rs. 54350 approx.), respectively. The smartphone will be sold from March 16, 2018, and the pre-booking has already started for sale in India.
