Qualcomm has announced their new upgrade to Quick Charge as 4+. Qualcomm previously announced their Quick Charge 4 with Snapdragon 835 chipset and now, this upgrade has three new features such as improved Dual Charge, Intelligent Thermal Balancing and Advanced Safety Features.
By these, additional features the device can charge 5 percent faster, or 30 percent more efficiently when compared to Quick Charge 4, says Qualcomm. The first feature is the Dual Charge which Includes a second power management IC in the device that divides the charge current, allowing for lower thermal dissipation and reduced charge time.
The second additional feature is Intelligent Thermal Balancing which is engineered to move current via the coolest path autonomously, eliminating hot spots for optimized power delivery. And, the third feature is Advanced Safety Features which is designed to monitor both the case and connector temperature levels simultaneously. This extra layer of protection helps ward against overheating and short-circuit or damage to the Type-C connector.
The first device to come out with Quick Charge 4+ is the latest flagship Nubia Z17 which was launched recently is uses NeoCharge which is based on the same QC 4+ and many more devices to come out.
