Google hasn’t unleveled the Pixel 3 yet. But the internet is full of looked photos, unboxing videos and a lot more of Pixel 3 XL. But why are there so many leaks? Thanks to Slashgear and 9to5Google to revealing that some of the Pixel 3XL has been stolen and already being sold on the black market in Europe.
Some of the initially leaked photos of the Pixel 3XL shows a watermark which is an exclusive link to a Telegram channel and by using this channel an anonymous Ukranian seller selling Pixel 3XL at a price of $2000. As of now, there is no info who is the seller and how he got so many Pixel 3 XL before the launch.
One of the freelance developer Owen Williams (@ow) on Twitter has pointed out that these should be the test units of the Pixel 3XL. These devices also carry the Google email address and software is not yet mature on the device, so they likely to be full of bugs. But still getting so many of test device is quite weird without getting some internal help.
There's a bunch of interesting bits here that are quite odd:
1) Every shipment has had a Googler's email address glued to the box
2) Some handsets are "DVT" (Design Validation Testing) and others were "EVT" (Engineering Validation Testing)
3) Software is dogfood-level pic.twitter.com/TNGmVLNXmk— ?? Owen (@ow) August 22, 2018
As of now, there is no word from Google but looks like Google along with its hardware partner Foxconn has been investigating the issue. I think this is the first time in the history that you can buy a leaked device month back before the official launch. But how this happened is the biggest question and we are sure Google will definitely give the answer in future. If we talk about the new Pixel devices then it is rumoured that they are going to launch on 4th October.
