OnePlus 5T has been launched by Oneplus on 16th November at an event in New York. The newest flagship of OnePlus houses an all-new its 6.01-inch bezel-less display with full-HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It also got a brand new dual rear camera setup and this time they removed the secondary telephoto lens and replaced it with a large aperture lens of f/1.7. The smartphone comes with an exact same price tag of the original OnePlus 5 so this is a good news for those people who want the new device but it disappoints all those customers who bought the Oneplus 5 a few months ago.
Oneplus 5T packs an Optic AMOLED 6.01-inch display with Full HD+ (2160 X 1080p) resolution. It comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 401ppi pixel density protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. With this new design, the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the rear of the phone. The OnePlus 5T is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC, coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM.
Oneplus has also upgraded the dual rear camera setup now it comes with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 and 1.12-micron pixel size. And the secondary telephoto lens which is previously powered by a 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor is now replaced by a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor. This is not a telephoto lens instead of the new camera comes with the aperture of f/1.7. This rear camera does not have any kind of OIS and relies only on EIS. According to Oneplus this new camera setup can take better depth-of-field and low light images. It is also capable to record 4K and 1080p 60fps video.
On the front, it packs the 16-megapixel snapper which we have already seen in the Oneplus 5. It is backed up by a non-removable 3300mAh battery which can be charged by superfast Dash Charging technology by Oneplus. It includes all the sensors and comes with a similar metallic design which we have seen in Oneplus 5.
The Oneplus 5T will only be available in a Midnight Black colour. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant and the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant cost Rs. 37,999. This is an Amazon India exclusive smartphone but will be available outside India via the OnePlus online store. The Oneplus 5T will first go on sale at 4:30 pm IST on November 21 only for Amazon Prime members in India. In a launch offer, OnePlus 5T will be eligible for 12-months accidental damage insurance by Servify.
