OnePlus, a well-known brand among the tech-enthusiasts and manufactures flagship devices at a mid to low price range. But, the issue they made recently by cheating on the benchmarks has given them a bad impression.
Actually, OnePlus tried to manipulate the benchmark scores of the apps which show them. It’s a bad take on behalf of them. It’s not the first time they did, they already done these manipulations with OnePlus 3T and caught badly. But, it did nothing to their sales and the OnePlus 3T did well in the market.
OnePlus even replied to this and said, ” People use benchmark apps in order to ascertain the performance of their device, and we want users to see the true performance of the OnePlus 5. Therefore, we have allowed benchmark apps to run in a state similar to daily usage, including the running of resource intensive apps and games. Additionally, when launching apps the OnePlus 5 runs at a similar state in order to increase the speed in which apps open. We are not overclocking the device, rather we are displaying the performance potential of the OnePlus 5.”
OnePlus 5 is a well beefy device with outstanding specs like a Snapdragon 835 SoC CPU with Adreno 540 GPU, coupled with 6/8 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage. With these type of flagship specs, OnePlus shouldn’t do this as it misleads their esteemed customer base and the reviewers.
