OnePlus 5 to get Android 8.0 Oreo – open beta update this November

OnePlus has launched their newest flagship smartphone recently as OnePlus 5T. Now, they have also said that they are going to roll out the Open Beta updates with Android 8.0 Oreo for OnePlus 3, 3T, 5 and 5T smartphones. They also said that there are over 250 closed beta testers and over 15,000 open beta testers.

OnePlus 5T is going to get the Open Beta update only at the end of December. The predecessors would get these updates by this November. They have also clarified that they the company doesn’t want to offer buggy Android Oreo at that launch for the 5T so it is running on Nougat currently. OnePlus 5 and 5T users can enjoy the final update of Android 8.0 Oreo by early 2018.

There were some features in Oxygen OS 12 beta of OnePlus 3 and 3T, where you can use multiple accounts through parallel apps. Now, this feature has been added to the OnePlus 5T natively. There was no word about the Face unlock feature for OnePlus 5 users. OnePlus has also announced that they will be releasing their kernel sources for OnePlus 5T.
