Nokia 8 Sirocco Android One smartphone with 5.5-inch Quad HD OLED display, 6GB RAM and dual rear cameras announced

HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia smartphones has introduced a new smartphone in the Nokia 8 series which is the Nokia 8 Sirocco. It’s their flagship smartphone in the segment and has the last year’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. The Nokia 8 Sirocco Edition now features a reduced bezel at the front with slightly curved edges. The Sirocco edition also gets a new Pro Camera mode which you might have found on the old Nokia Lumia devices.

Nokia 8 Sirocco sports a 5.5-inch (2560×1440 pixels) pOLED display with sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 700 nits brightness. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform with Adreno 540 GPU. Coupled with 6GB DDR4X RAM, 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage with expandable memory up to 256GB via a microSD card. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Nokia 8 Sirroco features a 12+13 MP Rear cameras with 2L7 wide-angle lens, f/1.7 aperture, and f/2.6 aperture respectively. It also has Dual Tone LED Flash and 2x optical zoom. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter with 1.4um pixel size. The smartphone also has a Fingerprint sensor, Barometer and is IP54 Splashproof. Other connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (MIMO), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1, NFC. It boasts a 3260mAh battery with fast charging and has Qi Wireless Charging support.

The Nokia 8 will be available in a single color which is Black and is priced at 749 euros ($920 or Rs. 59,533 approx.). The smartphone will be selling in the markets from early April of this year.
