Nexbit’s Cloud first Smartphone, The Robin, will be coming to India by the end of April!

The Nextbit Robin, A unique Cloudbased-Smartphone, was announced in September last year and was released in February priced at 399$ on open sale. It was based on a campaign on Kickstarter which was incredibly successful. Nextbit sent out the first 1000 units in January.
Now, by April end, Nextbit will be launching the Robin in India.

Here are the specifications.

For the Processor we’ve got a 64 bit Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 which comes with the Adreno 418 GPU. For the display we’ve got a crisp 5.2 inch Full HD (1080×1920) IPS display.
It has got 32 gigs of Internal Storage and 100 gigs of storage in the cloud, And has 3 gigs of RAM. For the software we’ve got the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on it.

For The camera here we’ve got a 13 MP primary back camera with dual tone LED flash and Phase-Detection autofocus. For the front camera we’ve got a 5 MP sensor. It is 7mm thick and has USB- Type C, Dual Front Facing Speakers and a Fingerprint scan

 

So what does “cloud first” mean?
In short, all of you Photos, Apps , Music , Videos etc. Will be backed up to the cloud. When an App is not used for a long time, the Robin will automatically backup the app and it’s data to the cloud,and your launcher will show the icon grayed out. If you want to use that app after its been moved to the cloud, you have to just tap the icon and the Robin will retrieve the app from the cloud. All data is backed up automatically in the background when the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.

The Robin has 4G LTE (Cat 4) 3G (HSPA+) Wi-Fi at 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), NFC, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0

All this is powered by a 2,680 mah battery which supports quick charge.

Pricing Info will be announced once the phone launches, but most probably it will be around the 25,000 ? mark.
