Motorola the company now owned by Lenovo has announced its successor to the moto g series which are the Moto G4 and Moto G4 plus at an event held in new Delhi on 17th of may 2016. The new Moto G4’s and G4 plus’s design and build are quite different to the previous iteration’s curvy and round design, now we have somewhat flat design which overall looks different but we still retain the iconic moto dimple at the back.
Taking a look under the hood we now have the snapdragon 617 running both the devices paired with 2GB of ram and 16GB of internal storage for G4 while the G4 plus comes with 2GB/3 GB ram and 32/16 GB internal storage, rest of the specs are quite similar on both devices, we have a 5.5 inch 1080p HD display which is a welcome change from 720p displays of the past, a 3000 mAh battery, and both devices are expandable via sd card. As for the differences the G4 plus has a 16mp rear camera and a 5mp front camera while on the other hand G4 has 13mp rear and a 5mp front camera also the G4 plus has a fingerprint sensor which is absent on the G4.
The G4 plus is available on Amazon.in for 13,499 for 16 GB variant and 14,499 for the 32 GB variant. pricing of G4 is yet to be announced. Overall looking at the specs and initial impressions from others the G4 and G4 plus seem to be a worthy upgrade over the Moto G3 since the company has greatly improved the camera and performance of the phone on paper still let’s see what will we find in real world testing.
