Micromax Kicks out Samsung to become No 1 in India

The most popular Indian brand Micromax becomes No 1 mobile vendor in India. Micromax beats South Korean Giant Samsung by 2% of total market share in India. Last year Micromax broke the sales of Samsung to reach the top position in India. This is the second time where an Indian Brand leading the market.

The Catalyst released a report on quarter 4 sales in Indian Market. According to the report 21.6 million smartphones were sold in india which is 90% jump compared to its previous year. India is one of the largest smartphone market on the planet with 21.6 million smart phones were sold during that period. The report suggests that Micromax secured 22% sales which is the highest. Next is Samsung with 20% market share which is dropping with time.

The next position is secured by Karbonn followed by Lava to grab the fourth spot. Success of Micromax clearly shows that the Indian Consumers prefer low budget smartphones compared to High End Devices. Micromax Sold quarter of its devices which are priced under $1oo( approx Rs 6000 ) and 41% were in between $100-$200 (Rs 6000-12000). In India the Price does matter a lot when you see Micromax Stats.

The lack of design and price,Samsung loosing its Consumers and the graph is going down. Samsung has to to Re Think its strategy and should provide low cost smartphones with reach features. The entry of Chinese brands Like Xiaomi, Huawei and Lenovo has directly effected Samsung sales.
