Micromax announced Android Lollipop 5.0 for its Canvas Series Phones. This kind of news was not expected from the brand like Micromax which never promised updates. To remind you Android L is the latest version of Android which was released in 2014. The Micromax Users were almost hopeless about Android Lollipop Update for their Canvas phones. They are facing tough competition from chinese brands like Xiaomi. So this might be the reason why they decided to roll out update for its popular canvas series.
Micromax Canvas Express A99 will be the first device which will receive Lollipop update. As of now this is the only guaranteed device which will get Android L. The Canvas Express A99 users will receive Over The Air (OTA) update. You will get the notification of the update and just download that file.If you don’t receive any notification then reboot the phone and you will surely get notification. Keep the battery level more than 75% and use Wifi or 3G while updating.
So they promised update for this Canvas express A99 in a few days or more. But they havn’t revealed about the devices which receive lollipop update. So just be patient they are working on the update on Canvas Series phones and might be released sooner or later. Although Android One Smartphones havn’t received Lollipop which is surprising as Xolo One is already running Android L.
It seems lot of brands are working on Android L to keep the users satisfy. As of now Only 1.6% of devices running on Android L which is indeed quite surprising. Earlier update from Google were quite fast as compared to this latest Android Lollipop 5.0. There are lot of bugs in Lollipop which might be the reason why this Update is rolling out slowly.
