LG is manufacturing the next Google Pixel

Recently there are some reports which suggest that next bigger pixel phone is codenamed as “Taimen”. The company uses various species of aquatic life as codenames for its phones so Taimen is one of the biggest fish in the world which hints for a larger display. But there are rumors that this Taimen is going to be manufactured by LG. There’s a bug entry in there regarding a problem with USB Power Delivery, made by an LG employee and was subsequently asked by a Google employee to move the bug report to an LG / taimen specific board. This could indicate that LG is manufacturing the new taimen a.k.a Pixel XL 2 device.

HTC is the company that made the original Pixel and Pixel XL. But now  HTC is still probably making the successor to the original Pixel, the new Pixel XL 2 will be manufactured by LG. Geekbench results point to a Snapdragon 835 and 4GB of RAM, but there is no news what will be the size of the display.

In March there is a leak which revealed “walleye” and “Muskie” as possible codenames for the next Pixel and Pixel XL. But now some recent reports suggest bigger one Muskie is called Taimen and this Big Brother of Pixel is going to manufactured by LG.

There is a rumor earlier this year speculated that Google wanted to invest in LG’s flexible OLED displays for its next phone. Maybe that has something to do with it. Also, LG is the creator of the Nexus 4, 5 and 5X.  But these are just some speculation. Currently, there is no confirmation from Google. So we have to wait for some months as Google is going to announce new pixel smartphones later this year.
