Lenovo to kill “Motorola” brand and will be replaced by “Moto By Lenovo”

Lenovo acquired Motorola in 2014 from Google. After 2 years, the company is trying to kill its brand Motorola which will be renamed to Lenovo. The iconic brand “Motorola” is ruling the industry from a decade. The Motorola made a comeback in the smartphone industry with Moto G. In 2012, Google acquired Motorola for US$12.5 Billion and managed to launch premium smartphones. In 2014, Google sold Motorola to Lenovo for US$2.9 Billion.

Soon Moto series will be dead and will be replaced by “Moto By Lenovo”. The Lenovo will use Vibe brand for budget oriented devices and Motorola for High-end smartphones. Reportedly, the company will continue to use Moto logo for most of its smartphones. There will be no change in the design pattern and quality of the smartphones.
