Lenovo announced Phab 2, Phab 2 Plus and Phab 2 Pro

Lenovo has unveiled their new Phab 2, Phab 2 plus and the Phab 2 pro line up of smartphones at Lenovo Tech world which was held in san Francisco, first lets get the normal phones out of the way, the new Phab 2 sports a 6.4 inch 720p display, runs on MediaTek MT8735 chipset paired with 3Gb of Ram and 32 Gb internal storage, the camera on the device is a 13mp shooter along with 5mp front facing camera similarly the Phab2 plus sports a 6.4 inch 1080p display, runs on MediaTek MT8783 also paired with 3Gb of RAM and 32Gb internal storage, both the devices have 4050 mAh battery while the Phab 2 plus has greater 8mp front facing camera.

 

Now comes the exciting stuff, the Phab2 pro is officially the first Project tango certified device from Lenovo or any other OEM, the phone has all the sensors required for depth sensing and 3d mapping built right on its back along with primary camera and finger print sensor which allows the device to Map 3d objects in realtime and can also provide AR experience: motion tracking, depth perception and area learning.

It’s imperative that the phone knows where it is in relation to physical objects to accurately integrate your surroundings into whatever Tango application which are being developed,this technology has endless possibilities in the future and Lenovo’s efforts of bringing project tango certified equipment to this size from the pasts huge bulky tablets is quite commendable.

Rest of the specs on the phone include, a 6.4 inch QuadHD display , powered by octa-core snapdragon 652 chipset, 4GB RAM 64 Gb internal storage which is expandable, the device also has 5.1 channel Dolby atmos recording through its microphones and can also output the same via its speakers, the battery on the device is a 4050 mAh priced at US 499$ and is mainly geared towards developers.
