Huawei’s sub-brand, The Honor launches their flagship device – the Honor 8 in India at an event in Delhi today. But, alongside they launched two new smartphones known as Honor 8 Smart ( a cheaper variant of Honor 8) and the successor to Holly 2, the Holly 3.
The Honor 8 comes loaded with a second-generation 12 MP dual camera system that features one RGB and one monochrome sensor on the back and an 8 MP camera on the front. The device features a 5.2 inches display with a Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080). It runs on Android 6.0 with Huawei’s Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it. The device is powered by a 16 nanometer Kirin 950 chip that reduces power consumption and enhances overall performance. The processor is backed by 4GB RAM. The device comes loaded with a 3000mAh battery and comes in a new Sapphire Blue color.
The second device that was launched at the event was the Honor Holly 3 which is Huawei’s first smartphone that’ll be Made in India. This smartphone is larger than the Honor 8 and Honor 8 smart with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The smartphone gets a 3D back cover, adding to the premium look and feel. It features a 13 MP camera at the back. For selfies, the smartphone gets an 8 MP selfie camera. This smartphone too runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 skin on top of it. Powering the smartphone is a larger 3,100mAh battery.
Coming to the Honor 8 Smart, it features a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display. The device gets a similar aluminum unibody frame for added durability and premium looks. The device rocks Huawei’s own Hisilicon Kirin 650 chipset, which is a slightly less powerful chipset than what’s seen on the Honor 8. The processor is paired with 2GB of RAM. Users get 16GB of internal memory which can be further expanded using a microSD card up to 128GB. The attractive part of the Honor 8 Smart is the optics part where it features a SONY IMX214 13 MP sensor at the back and an 8 MP front camera. The smartphone is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top of it. Powering the smartphone is a 3000mAh battery with quick-charging.
Coming to the prices of all these devices, the Honor 8 is priced at Rs. 29,999 and the Honor 8 Smart is priced at Rs. 19,999 whereas the Holly 3 is priced at Rs. 9,999. why this is priced high even though it shares almost similar specifications as the Honor 5C that was launched in India a few months back for Rs. 10,999 only.
