After many rumours, we’ve got to see the Pixel devices finally. The Pixel phone actually was showed up first in “Nest” Advertisement. Here’s the link to the video if you want to check it out!
After all that Nest ad, we’ve got the images show both phones in the aluminum finish, which does look very light above. I think that’s down to the harsh lighting. The top of the rear panel is clearly lighter and smoother (it’s glass). The fingerprint sensor is up there as well. There are some IDs and markings obscured for obvious reasons.
The front houses the same sensors layout design, and yes! the bezels do look much bigger now. All the things we know as far as now is that Pixel XL will be the bigger one with 5.5-inch screen size and the Pixel will be the smaller one with 5-inch screen size. In the pictures, they don’t look as good as they’ll look in better lighting conditions. The XL has a standard lock screen up, and the Pixel appears to be running the new boot animation.
Coming to my thoughts, “The camera and flash setup of the Pixel phones is surely inspired by an iPhone though, but at least it’s not a complete knock-off thanks to those 3 dots (whatever they are), as well as the glass (which again, doesn’t show in these dumb leaks) and also the fingerprint scanner. The front may look familiar, but IMO it looks more like a Moto phone than an iPhone (because of the prominent proximity sensor and front camera). Oh, and no home button either, so yeah. But people need to stop jumping to conclusions and calling it an iPhone clone based off of these bad quality prototype leaks. Judge all you want, but after they’re officially announced after you’ve held them in your hand and after you see how the quality of the phone and material and everything else really is“.
