Chinese giant Gionee made headlines with its Elife E7 which has spectacular 16 MP camera. Now Gionee calls Elife S5.5 as the slimmest smartphone in the world with 5.5 mm thickness. Prior to this, Micromax launched Canvas knight in Russia with 6.5 mm thickness. However Gionee Elife S5.5 is 1 mm thin than Canvas knight and Xperia Z. Elife S5.5 joins Elife family with Elife E3, Elife E5, Elife E6 ,Elife E7 and Elife E7 mini.
Gionee Elife S5.5 was first spotted by Engadget revealing most of the specifications. The Slimmest Smartphone runs on Amigo UI with Android. Gionee managed to pack in 2300 mAh battery which can last a day. The 2300 mAh battery is bit surprising for such a thin phone. The RAM is of 2 GB sporting 1.7 GHz quadcore processor with unspecified chipset. Gionee Elife S5.5 flauts 5 inch display with unknown resolution Supporting 13 Megapixel back shooter and 5 Megapixel front shooter. Additional features include dual sim with 3G, wifi, bluetooth and GPS. However Elife S5.5 with 4G LTE might arrive in june.
Gionee Elife S5.5 is live for preorders in China for $370 costing Rs 23000 in India. Gionee is set to launch this device in 40 countaries. Earlier Gionee revealed Gionee M2 for 10,999 INR and Gionee Gpad 4 for 18,999
