The app works just like Paytm almost by making a payment from your bank account using only your phone number. If the shopkeeper uses the BHIM app too, just open the app, choose “send money”, and type in the amount and the merchant’s phone number to make the payment.
It’s being said that this app is also undergoing for an update to add a fingerprint API which you will be able to withdraw money even with your fingerprints. Users will also be able to switch between bank accounts within the app if they’ve several bank accounts as well. But the BHIM there has a Rs. 10,000 per transaction limit, and Rs. 20,000 per day limit.
The BHIM will be accepting many major Indian banks as well wich includes SBI, Axis, HDFC, ICICI, and much more. The BHIM app is a very much simplified UPI app that comes at about at only 2 MB of size itself.
