Amazon, a tech giant has launched their first smartphone as “Amazon Fire” way back in 2014. It was not received well by the people and seemed to be expensive at a point, with its low specifications and offerings.
Now, Amazon is rumoured to announce a new smartphone in mid-range category devices. It is said that the smartphone line-up would be named as “Ice”. Amazon is trying to launch this device in India and Chinese markets first. So, we can tell that it Amazon is going to compete with Chinese manufacturers as they are leading in mid-range devices.
Let’s check out the specs of this device. The Amazon Ice may come with a 5.2-inch to 5.5-inch full HD display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 SoC. It is going to have a 2GB of RAM and a 16/32GB of internal storage. It will run on Android 7.1 Nougat and will feature Google Assistant in-built.
Amazon has it’s own voice-command personal AI assistant “Alexa”, but we have no idea whether it’s going to be on device or not. The smartphone may be priced between Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 7,000, which is a decent priced device for a budget device and there is a heavy competition in this range. The device may launch at the of this year.
